Crystal Pavilion Clubhouse: A Fusion of European Serenity and Oriental Tranquility

David Chang Design Associates Int'l Unveils a Masterpiece Inspired by Song Dynasty Culture

David Chang Design Associates Int'l has crafted a unique architectural marvel, the Crystal Pavilion Clubhouse. Drawing inspiration from the Ru porcelain culture of the Song Dynasty, the design fuses European serenity and Oriental tranquility, creating a luxurious residential and commercial property on the banks of the Qiantang River.

The Crystal Pavilion Clubhouse is located in Hangzhou, the capital of the Song Dynasty, and is an embodiment of the city's rich cultural history. The design concept is inspired by the characteristics of porcelain, such as light color jade, the strokes of cracked glaze, and the proportional shape of porcelain. The result is a harmonious blend of European and Oriental aesthetics, creating a serene and tranquil environment.

The project is situated on the bank of the Qiantang River, boasting 245 meters of beautiful riverfront and direct visual scenery of Jade Emperor Mountains and the historical Six Pagoda of Harmonies. With a total construction area of 320,000 square meters, the Crystal Pavilion Clubhouse consists of 11 buildings and a two-floor commercial street. It has become one of the noble residential communities on the banks of the Qiantang River.

The architectural elements of Art Deco and light Beijing marble were used as the major design details and color palette in this project. The lobby ceiling and fountains details derived from lotus pedal of Porcelain Ru from Song Dynasty to create a visual sense of reflection on the water. The clubhouse is designed to serve Crystal Pavilion Residents and the visitors to the residence as well as the private club members. The dining areas, spa & pool, and other activities areas have their own independent and exclusive area with nice traffic flow.

The project began in March of 2011 and was completed and furnished in June of 2016. The design process was not without its challenges. Due to local planning policy changes, the project came to a halt for a year. To facilitate the process of the research abstract, the design team began using hand-drawing techniques to create 3-dimensional designs to replace the computer renderings in the design development.

The Crystal Pavilion Clubhouse is a testament to the design prowess of David Chang Design Associates Int'l. The project was awarded Silver in A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award in 2017. The award is a recognition of the design's creative and professional excellence and its ability to evoke positive feelings, amazement, and wonder.

David Chang Design Associates Int'l has once again demonstrated their ability to create unique and inspiring designs. The Crystal Pavilion Clubhouse is a testament to their commitment to creating spaces that are not only aesthetically pleasing but also culturally significant and rooted in history.
